Community Walking Champions
Local champions strengthen grassroots advocacy.
In 2019, we had the opportunity to work with amazing organizations and communities that are working to make their streets safer and more inviting to walk.
We look forward to continuing this work in the year to come!
As part of the program, communities and organizations participated in:
- Community conversations where residents discussed safety challenges they face and changes they want.
- Pedestrian advocacy workshops that enabled residents to learn about useful safety solutions and how to get government leaders to make them a reality.
- Walk audits where participants learned how to complete a walk audit in their community to help people imagine future possibilities.
