Community-based walks and workshops
No one knows a street as well as the people who live along it. But knowing a street doesn’t mean you have to accept the status quo.
We work with you to launch build partnerships, develop a community vision, and prioritize solutions.
We also help you identify steps that will enable you to make your vision a reality.
We organize multi-disciplinary teams to inventory sidewalks, crosswalks and other conditions. Together with residents, we document needs and recommend solutions.
We also lead follow-up meetings and prepare reports that help you move from planning to implementation.
Our walking audits are especially useful on streets where road maintenance or other projects are expected in the near future. With our help, you can ensure that the needs of people who walk will not be an afterthought.
Lunch and Learn discussions and walking meetings
We organize and lead walking meetings where people can learn the importance of street design and land use to making communities places where people want to walk.
We also provide presentations and lead discussions that increase people’s understanding of crosswalk laws and of tools that increase pedestrian safety.
We provide outreach to communities who often lack a voice in transportation planning. Our outreach activities are a great way for transportation professionals and others to help ensure their plans address the needs of people who cannot attend stakeholder meetings.
