SLOW DOWN Yard Signs
PEDS has distributed SLOW DOWN yard signs to more than 5,000 households in nearly 200 metro Atlanta neighborhoods (map). Yard signs remind drivers to slow down and help generate neighborhood dialogue about the solutions to residential speeding.

Make Your Own
You can create yard signs out of plywood, laminated poster board or any durable material. Consider holding a neighborhood sign-making party and letting the kids help decorate. Here are some good examples:
Effective signs have:
- Very large letters, at least 1 inch thick.
- Contrasting colors like black on yellow or red on white.
- A simple, short message.
- Polite language. Don’t tick off your audience.
