Radar Gun Check Out
Got a speeding problem? Prove it! Use PEDS’ radar gun to record speeds on your residential road. Use the data to justify the need for police enforcement or traffic calming.
Who can check out the radar gun?
Use of PEDS’ radar gun is a benefit for member organizations. Only organizations (neighborhood groups, homeowner associations, nonprofits) that are current members of PEDS can check out the radar gun. Call us to verify your organization’s membership status.
How long is the check-out period?
One week. PEDS has one radar gun and many member organizations. One week should be all you need.
Is there a fee?
There is no fee, but a $100 deposit is required when you pick up the radar gun. Your check, payable to “PEDS,” will be returned to you when the radar gun is returned.
How do I reserve the radar gun?
To reserve the radar gun, contact Larissa Bradburn 404-685-8732 or <Email Larissa>. Before you reserve the radar gun, please plan the following:
- Determine who will do the monitoring. You need two people: one to use the radar gun and one to record the speeds.
- Pick the location(s) of the monitoring. Straight roads are best.
- Choose the week for which you want to reserve the radar gun.
How do I get the radar gun?
Pick it up at PEDS’ office. Before coming, please call to make sure someone is in. We attend meetings out of the office, so it’s always best to call first.
How do I return the radar gun?
Return it to PEDS’ office by the end of your week. Another organization may have reserved it for the following week. Again, be sure to call before you come.
