Georgia Walks Summit: an opportunity you won’t want to miss

The 2017 Georgia Walks Summit is a statewide gathering of transportation and public health professionals, community advocates and elected officials committed to making our streets and communities great places to walk.

Participants will share best practices, help make pedestrian safety the top priority and build momentum for walkable communities. Concurrent tracks will make the Georgia Walks Summit relevant to diverse audiences and to towns and cities of all sizes.

The Georgia Walks Summit will be in Augusta on May 4, 3:30 – 7:00 PM and May 5, 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM.

Call for Proposals

We’re now accepting proposals for sessions at the summit. Desired topics include pedestrian-friendly design and operations, safety, healthy communities, accessibility, equity, land use, placemaking and community engagement.

We encourage a variety of session types, including panel presentations, moderated discussions, mobile workshops and small group interactive discussions.

Breakout sessions will be 45-minutes each. We recommend that panels include no more than one participant from the same consulting firm or organization. We ask that individuals limit themselves to being a presenter in no more than two proposals. Presenters will be notified of their status in March 2017.
