Exploring Tucker Parks with Frank
Frank knows a good deal about Tucker and its parks. “I live in the brand new city of Tucker, GA,” Frank says, “and I serve on the Tucker Community Planning Board.”
A retired government employee, Frank now trains people with disabilities on computer use. To get out and enjoy the world, he attends many of the 50+ Walks events in Tucker. He even leads several himself through the Henderson Park trails.
“I like to walk outdoors in good weather,” Frank says. “There is more variety than a treadmill in the gym.” And as something many people can relate to, Frank also admits “It is a good break from working and sitting at a computer.”
Frank enjoys having a set schedule for walks, “I like to walk with 50+ Walks because it is a small group activity with a set structure of times we meet. I also like the variety of walking routes.” Walks are moved to different neighborhoods in Tucker each week.
“I would like to see more sidewalks and connectivity between the parks in Tucker,” Frank says, “I would also like to see a variety of groups who walk.”
The Tucker 50+ Walks group currently meets Tuesdays at 1 PM and Thursdays at 6:30 PM for about a 2 mile walk.
